Renowned Impressionist Candace Whittemore Lovely combines her romantic vision, years of study, and technical ability to capture the hearts and minds of an ever-growing list of patrons. Whether painting treasured landscapes, commissioned portraits, or people at work and at play, Candace captures the American Spirit with a distinctly feminine flair and presents a pleasing, non-confrontational view of contemporary life. Internationally respected art dealer James Bakker and The Boston Globe have called Lovely the Grand Dame of Boston painters. Her inspiration and technique come from the masters and traditions of The Boston School, America's oldest continuing school of painting. wonderful winter street scene Candace. F/L
Candace Lovely
Thank you. If I may share my accounting book notes on "Newbury and Exeter Streets", oil on linen 19x26, 1983 - "I first saw this scene in 1982, but winter was too short! The image haunted me for the entire year, I had to wait. It was exhibited in the 1983 Copley Society Members Show.In Rockport it won the 1983 Rockport Art Association Reine Rose Strisik Most Popular Award and in New York, the 1983 Helen DeCozen National Award from the American Artist Professional League. In 1983, it was displayed in a bank window and Robert Kennedy of Kennedy Studios saw my work for the first time. He published it as a poster in 1983 and as a limited edition print in 1984. (The entire 950 edition sold out!) In 1986, it was published in the book, "Realism in Revolution: The Art of the Boston School",1985 and "Color with Candace Whittemore Lovely, The Impressionist Way, Boston", 2017."
